Making a Change

Before I went to culinary school I read a lot of books about where our food comes from and fell in love with the ideas of knowing your farmer and eating natural food. Somehow over the last few years I’ve let the importance of those ideals slip in my daily life. It probably started with my pregnancy cravings for Wendy’s that haven’t seemed to go away. I’m making a conscious effort to go back to practicing eating ethically. I’m sure this is a principle that means something different to just about everyone but for me it is about eating foods that are local as much as possible, limiting (not eliminating) meat, and avoiding sodium filled prepared packaged foods. January may not be the best time of year to kick this into high gear, but here it goes.
